A Federal Marshal on Earth faces danger and moral dilemmas as civilization breaks down in the aftermath of nuclear war.
HOUSTON
This episode starts in Houston, Texas and focuses on DUKE MCGILLIS, a US Marshal, as he and his group of marshals deal with the breakdown of civilization in the aftermath of the nuclear war. Duke and his comrades arrest a wanted fugitive, but news of the India-Pakistan nuclear exchange shocks everyone.
Duke and other marshals are summoned to a National Guard base to protect food supplies that are being shipped elsewhere for the benefit of distant big shots. Duke decides not to participate in the theft of the food, but works to help the wounded when a violent riot breaks out.
Duke and some of his friends are scheduled to leave for Mars on the next transport, but they learn that tickets are being cancelled so that the American elite can escape from Earth.
Duke and his crew hold hostage the family of a Daedalus vice president to make him protect their Mars tickets. An attack by security personnel in the night leaves several people dead including the Daedalus vice president.
Duke decides to help the family of the vice president get to Florida so they can all get to the Mars shuttle on time. Civilization is breaking down around the world and roads are becoming dangerous.
Duke and his surviving comrade defeat a party of ambushers on their trip to Florida. They barely get to the shuttle on time.
